Attention December 2024 and January 2025 Graduation Candidates

SENIORS: if you are planning to graduate in December 2024 or January 2025,
there is still time to submit your graduation application online!

All degree and certificate undergraduate and graduate candidates are
required to submit a graduation application.


BEFORE FILING YOUR APPLICATION:

1.      Consult with your academic advisor/program coordinator regarding
completion of degree requirements and your graduation plans.

2.      Review your Degree Works audit to verify the accuracy of your
degree program, major(s), and minor(s) and to ensure you will complete all
requirements by the term you select for graduation. Email
degreeworks at plattsburgh.edu to resolve discrepancies prior to accessing the
online graduation application.

3.      Pay close attention to the DEGREE header. The degree listed will be
the degree awarded.

Some academic programs provide an option for a B.A. or a B.S. In this case,
you may submit a request to change your degree option by emailing the
Registrar’s Office.

4.      Number of Degrees = Number of Graduation Applications to submit.
Students graduating in combined undergraduate/graduate programs submit two
separate applications but simultaneously. One application for the
undergraduate degree and a second application for the graduate degree.
Submit both applications for the term that all graduate level requirements
will be completed, as both degrees are awarded simultaneously.

The “hometown” city, state, and country are listed on the Commencement
Website <https://www.plattsburgh.edu/plattslife/commencement/graduates.html>
for
all graduates. This information is copied from the most recent mailing
address you have on file with the university. If you want the published
hometown information to be different from what is in your record, please
email the Registrar’s Office as soon as possible.

If you apply too late in the semester, your name may not appear on the
Commencement Website.


ONLINE GRADUATION APPLICATION: (Detailed application instructions are
available on the MyPlattsburgh Students link under the Degree
Audit/Information header).

1.      Log into MyPlattsburgh (https://my.plattsburgh.edu/)

2.      Click on the Students header

3.      Click on the Graduation Application link listed under the Degree
Audit/Information header

4.      Click on the ‘Complete a Graduation Application’ link

Notes:

   -

   If your address changes after you have applied for graduation, you must
   email the Registrar’s Office promptly to request your diploma be mailed to
   your new address.
   -

   Final degree audits are completed generally one week after final grades
   are due. Please monitor your SUNY Plattsburgh email accounts for results.
   -

   Diplomas are mailed six to eight weeks after degree conferral
   -

   All holds must be cleared before receiving your diploma - check your
   holds from your MyPlattsburgh account: Students header; under the Registrar
   section find the My Holds link.
