Presentation: Indicators and Warning Signs of Terrorism

Please join the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency
Services (DHSES) Office of Counter Terrorism (OCT) Public Safety Unit for a
unique presentation that fits the current threat environment of colleges
and universities. This training experience includes education on the
indicators and warning signs of suspicious activity that could be related
to terrorism or other crimes.

The outreach is critical to local businesses and infrastructure sectors,
who can be exploited by those with nefarious intent. This presentation
includes the following:

   - Brief overview of the current threat environment
   - Overview of the 8 signs & 16 behavioral indicators of terrorism
   - Examples of suspicious activity within the environment in which you
   work
   - Case studies
   - The who, what, where, when, and why of suspicious activity and how to
   report it
   - Overview of reporting mechanisms available within New York State and
   the different materials and resources provided by DHSES’s Office of Counter
   Terrorism
