The CEES Seminar Series presents:
The Mary Roden-Tice Scholarship Lecture

*Dr. Laurie Grigg, *Associate Professor Earth and Environmental Science
Norwich University

*Climate-driven limnologic change during the Holocene: A long-term
perspective from a Vermont pond on the connections between climate and
freshwater ecosystems*

As northern climates warm and become wetter, the impacts of climate change
on freshwater ecosystems are of increasing concern and scientific
research. However, less is known on the longer, millennial- to
centennial-scale impacts of climate change on lakes. Multiple sediment
cores from Twin Ponds in Brookfield, VT provide a multiproxy record on
climate and limnologic change during the Holocene that highlights the
importance of precipitation and seasonal insolation values on lake
stratification and productivity.
*Friday April 5th * *3:30pm. *
*Hudson 106*
*Reception prior to the talk at 3:00*
