The CEES Seminar Series presents:

*Ben DeJong, *State Geologist, Vermont Department of Environmental
Conservation

*Aftermath of “The Great Vermont Flood” of 10-11 July 2023*

The Great Vermont Flood of July 2023 wreaked havoc as torrential rainfall
triggered widespread flooding from rivers overflowing their banks,
resulting in severe erosion and destruction. Additionally, the heavy
rainfall triggered numerous landslides, further intensifying the
devastation and leading to road closures and infrastructure damage across
the region.  Join us as Ben DeJong provides a high-level overview from the
perspective of the Vermont Geological Survey.
