Campus Community,
This notice is being provided for your awareness about actions available to
the campus for the enforcement of parking regulations on campus. As
provided in the New York Codes, Rules, and Regulations, the University
reserves the authority to immobilize or remove from the campus by towing,
any vehicle not registered as required or parked in violation of parking
regulations.
*What you need to know:*
In practice, University Police will only tow as a last resort. We will
only tow illegally parked vehicles after more than 5 violations have been
cited, and after a Tow Warning notice has been sent to the student,
employee, or vehicle owner.
Note: Vehicles parked legally and displaying a valid parking tag will not
be towed, regardless of outstanding fines or tickets.
Vehicles are towed from campus by private towing companies and towing fees
and storage is expensive. These fees are not set by the campus and must be
paid to the towing company to recover the vehicle. If your vehicle is
towed, University Police will notify you of where you can retrieve your
vehicle.
Please do your part in assisting the campus with adherence to parking
regulations.
