Hello,
The Graduate Admissions Office invites SUNY Plattsburgh faculty and staff
to submit proposals for 2024-25 Graduate Assistantships and Graduate
Fellowships. Graduate Assistantships and Fellowships are an excellent way
to help recruit and retain graduate students while enriching the quality of
their educational experience. All proposals will be reviewed/approved by
the provost's cabinet based upon the following criteria: relationship to a
graduate program of study; educational value of the position; and potential
recruitment/retention benefit.
*Graduate Assistantships*
If you are interested in submitting a proposal for a Graduate Assistant
Position in your office/department,* please complete the Faculty/Staff

by
November 1* (forms submitted after this deadline will not be reviewed).
Everyone who would like to have a GA position in 2024-25 must submit a
proposal (whether it is a new or continuing position).
Graduate Assistantships are roles held by full-time, graduate level
students. These positions are generally expected to provide 10 or 20 hours
of work per week, and offer students partial or full tuition coverage as
well as a bi-weekly stipend to assist with living expenses. We have a
modest budget to fund tuition discounts for GA positions. Departments
sponsoring the GA position are expected to cover the stipend. If your
department has funding to cover the tuition assistance and the stipend,
please indicate that on your proposal. Learn more
