session: “FERPA for Advisors,” facilitated by Academic Advising Director,
Elizabeth Bernat, with special guest Pam Munson, University Registrar.

With heightened parental/guardian involvement, advocacy, and intervention
for students, how does FERPA law guide what we can and can’t say, should
and shouldn’t do, as advisors and program coaches? We will provide FERPA
basics for advisors, proxy access, confidentiality flags, and talk through
a couple routine scenarios that arise.

Next in Advising session content is geared toward advisor development, but all
campus staff are welcome to attend and participate. We hope you can join us.
