"Humphrey and Me", Nov. 29 (W) at noon

 The Institute for Ethics in Public Life welcomes Stuart Brody to discuss
his new novel, *Humphrey and Me* (Integrity Intensive, 2023). *Humphrey** and
M*e is a work of historical fiction taking place in the 60s’ and 70s’ and
features the coming of age of a young boy who becomes enamored of Hubert
Humphrey in the aftermath of the Kennedy assassination. The book is
inspired by Stu's own relationship with Hubert Humphrey, and reflects on
idealism and political compromise during an age of political turmoil.
During our conversation, Stu will discuss both the book and how the
historical perspective on Humphrey has shifted. *Humphrey and Me* has
landed some excellent reviews and is an engaging and emotional journey
through an important time in our history. Additional information on the

Stuart Brody is a Senior Scholar at the Institute for Ethics in Public
Life, and is the author of *The Law of Small Things: Creating a Habit of
Integrity in a Culture of Mistrust* (Penguin Random House, 2019). He is
also an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Arizona in the School of
Government and Public Policy.
