MICROSOFT OFFICE UPGRADE AND LICENSING

ITS Staff will be upgrading the campus Microsoft Office application from
version 2019 to Office 365 starting after 4pm on Thursday, May 25th.  Not
all computers will get the upgrade immediately and some follow-up may be
necessary.  There are 2 changes that will come with the move to Office 365.


1. All future Office upgrades will happen as simple regular updates instead
of large changes like this one.


2. The application will now be licensed per user and not per device for
faculty and staff.  This means that the first time you run Office after the
upgrade you may be required to login with your campus credentials.
Classrooms and Labs will still remain device based so you should not need
to login on those each time.



NEW CODES FOR DUO PUSH

ITS is continuing efforts to enhance the security of our systems on campus
and follow best practices.  A new feature will be turned on for those that
use the DUO push app. After you authenticate with your campus
netid/password  you will now be presented with a 3 digit code (sample
screenshot below). When prompted, simply enter this code into the DUO app
on your mobile device and click verify. Starting on *Tuesday, May 30th*,
you will be required to enter the 3 digit code on your mobile device to
verify and confirm the DUO push.
