Do you know a student looking to get more involved on campus who wants
leadership experience? The Student Association is the Student Government
here at SUNY Plattsburgh and is the student body's voice. The organization
helps the campus and the student body in many ways, such as the: Shuttle
Service, Funding clubs, organizations, events, and activities.
This is only possible without the dedication of the 24 students who
compromise the government of 8 Executive Members and 16 Senators.
President
Vice President
Treasurer
Coordinator for Academics
Coordinator for Arts
Coordinator for Student Affairs & Diversity
The two other executive positions, Coordinator for the Activities and
Coordinator
for Clubs & Organizations, are positions that are being appointed for next
year and will not be filled via elections.
The executive board handles the day-to-day workings of the Student
Association, such as planning, handling, and running the boards that each
position manages. The time commitment for these positions ranges from 5-8
hours per week, which includes five mandatory office hours weekly.
Along with the Executive branch, 16 senators' positions focus on a
different part of the campus, such as activities, clubs and organizations,
and community living. The senators focus on their different parts but also
come together once a week for Senate meetings where they vote on additional
allocations, new clubs and organizations, and various legislation. The
senator's position entails about 5-6 hours per week which includes 3 hours
weekly of office hours.
All the above positions come with a stipend which students would get in two
equal payments each semester.
If you have students interested in running for a position and want to
contact current officers by emailing them

or stopping by the Student Association office to pick up a packet or to
learn more. Packets are due March 28 by 4:30 pm.
