Tuesday Talks presents Christina Keppie, Director for the Center of
Canadian-American Studies at Western Washington University, speaking on
"Teaching (Francophone) Canada at a Transboundary University" *on Tuesday,
February 28, 2023 at 4:30pm* in the Angell College Center's Cardinal
Lounge. Below is an abstract of Ms. Keppie's presentation.

What are the opportunities and challenges in teaching about Canada at a
transboundary, west-coast American university? We'll delve into how
pedagogy shifted to meet the needs of Western Washington University's
student body, described as both culturally and globally naive but desperate
for social and personally impactful reform. We'll look at the attitudes
toward Francophone Canada remains underrepresented at the French
programmatic level and also at the institutional level and what this
signals for the future of Canadian Studies at Western Washington University.
