>From bumblebees to black bears on a journey of human-environment
interactions

Career paths aren’t always straightforward, and often have many predictable
and unpredictable turns and twists. Dr. Anita Morzillo’s (’96; Biological
Sciences) pathway has included species ranging in size from bumblebees to
black bears, across multiple continents, and within multiple organizations
of employment -- all part of an adventure that started in biology and has
landed (so far) in human dimensions of natural resources and landscape
ecology. In this seminar, she will tell the story of how her undergraduate
research experience has led to research and applied projects and
opportunities focused on wildlife, forests, urban ecosystems, green
infrastructure, outdoor recreation, and rural communities. She also will
share lessons learned along the way and insights for students who are
pursuing careers in environmental sciences.
