On Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at 12 noon, we will be hosting a Welcoming
Luncheon for our Fulbright Distinguished Chair, Dr. Jean-Philippe Marcoux.
This event will take place at the Center for the Study of Canada &
Institute on Québec Studies, 133 Court Street, Conference Room (#103).

Dr. Jean-Philippe Marcoux, who will be with us at SUNY Plattsburgh for the
spring 2023 semester, is a Professor of American Literature at Université
Laval in Québec City. He is the author of *Jazz Griots: Music as History in
the 1960s African American Poem (Lexington Books, 2012) *and the
editor of *Some
Other Blues: New Perspectives on Amiri Baraka (Ohio UP, 2021), and Back
Pages: New and Selected Poems by A.L. Nielsen (BlazeVox,2021)*.

The focus of Dr. Marcoux’s research project, while in residence at the
Institute on Québec Studies, is titled “The Society of Umbra: A Digital
Archive.”

We would be most delighted if you could join us in welcoming Dr. Marcoux to
our campus.
