Petition for Menstrual Wellness Center on Campus

*As you may be aware, thanks to all your support, Dr. Akanksha Misra
(amisr001 at plattsburgh.edu <amisr001 at plattsburgh.edu>) and Olivia Wolfe
(owolf001 at plattsburgh.edu <owolf001 at plattsburgh.edu>) in Spring this year
were able to garner around 600 responses to a campus-wide survey on PCOS
(Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) and Childhood Experiences. They presented the
results on Black Solidarity Day. The data revealed, amongst other things,
the need for greater resources on campus for menstruating students. *

*Therefore, they are petitioning the campus to start a Menstrual Wellness
Center. This center would be a physical space to provide education, period
products, and support to menstruating people, and anyone else who is
interested. A menstrual wellness center is so important because currently,
not only do our menstruating students have very little support from campus,
but the surrounding population may not have many avenues for menstrual
health and education.*
