Community Service Opportunities for Students

Please share with students who are looking for volunteer opportunities on
campus and in the community.

Project HELP is in the process of discontinuing the use of Helper Helper
and transitioning to the new Cardinal Link system. You should have received
an email earlier this week about Cardinal Link. To find and sign up for
volunteer opportunities through Project HELP, you simply need to do the
following:

1. Sign in to Cardinal Link at  https://plattsburgh.campusgroups.com/login
<https://plattsburgh.campusgroups.com/login?email=swickan@plattsburgh.edu&utm_source=new_member&utm_medium=email_notification>

2. On the left hand side of the Home Page, select "Service Opportunities".
3  You will see three boxes titled "One-Time Opportunities", "On-Going
Opportunities" and "Project HELP", click on "Project HELP" and then click
the "Join" button in the upper right corner. This will make it easier for
you to find out about and view volunteer opportunities.
4. From this page you can either view the events OR you can go back to the
previous page and click on either the "One-Time Opportunities Box" which
will allow you to sign up for current volunteer opportunities OR click on
"On-Going Opportunities" and contact any that are of interest to you to see
when they need volunteers. We will send an email out next week telling you
how to upload any hours that you did not get from the "One-Time
Opportunities" folder.
5. Be sure to either upload a photo of yourself at the event OR upload a
photo of a letter from the volunteer site confirming your participation.
This will be needed to validate your hours for those volunteer sites that
do not have a QR code from Project HELP for you to check in.

We already have A LOT of service and volunteerism opportunities in Cardinal
Connect, including helping out at the Student Mailroom and with the Battle
of Plattsburgh on September 7 - 9th. Please check it out today and start
signing up.
