*SUNY Plattsburgh Department of Music presents*

*A Two-Night Band Extravaganza*

*At E. Glenn Giltz, Hawkins Hall*



Plattsburgh, NY – The SUNY Plattsburgh Department of Music will be hosting
two band concerts featuring *SUNY Plattsburgh Symphonic Band* on  *Friday,
April 28* and *SUNY Plattsburgh Jazz Ensemble* on *Saturday, April 29*!
Both concerts begin at *7:30 pm*, and will be performed in the *E. Glenn
Giltz Auditorium. Both events are free and open to the public.*



Starting off the event on *Friday, April 28* at *7:30pm *will be the *SUNY
Plattsburgh Symphonic Band* in their concert entitled, *How Suite It Is*.
It will feature the works of Holst, Kaneda, Kaneda, and Bennett. Directed
by Daniel Gordon, the SUNY Plattsburgh Symphonic Band is a long-standing
staple in the music program at the university. Composed of students and
community members, the concert will also feature special guests, the
Plattsburgh Community Clarinet Choir.



Then, on *Saturday, April 29* at *7:30pm*, the premiere of the *SUNY
Plattsburgh Jazz Ensemble* takes the stage for the *Big Band Revival *concert!
Join director Matthew Pray as the ensemble brings you through a voyage of
music from Berg, Garland, Jones, Davies, and more. The SUNY Plattsburgh
Jazz Ensemble has assembled a force to be reckoned with and includes both
students and community members among its personnel.



*Don’t miss out on this double-header of band music coming to the E. Glenn
Giltz Auditorium on April 28 and April 29! Each performance begins at
7:30pm and is free and open to the public! We’ll see you there!*
