University Faculty Senate Committee Application Now Open

Dear Colleagues;
As I announced in Faculty Senate on Tuesday, applications are now open for
the University Faculty Senate standing committees. This application is for
the SUNY-WIDE Senate; applications for Plattsburgh-only committees will be
distributed later this month.

Following are the instructions provided by UFS and the application link:

The annual standing committee form is now open and will remain open until
May 28th at noon. Please send this email far and wide within SUNY.  We are
looking for people on all committees.  Below are some important details to
remember when applying for a committee.



   1. Anyone within SUNY may apply for a committee.  If you are already on
   a committee and wish to stay on that committee – YOU STILL NEED TO APPLY.
   Committee terms are one year and renewable for up to three years.  After
   you have served for three years on a committee you must cycle off that
   committee.  YOU MAY APPLY FOR A NEW COMMITTEE, and we hope that you do!
   2. If you are looking to switch committees you will fill out the form
   for new committee selections.  You MUST provide an abridged (2 page) CV if
   you are moving committees or if you are a new applicant.  Applications for
   a new committee without a PDF 2-page CV will be discarded.
   3. The closing date and time is May 27th at noon.  If you miss this
   deadline, you have missed the deadline.  I will not be opening the form
   again.  There is a lot of work that needs to go into organizing the 100+
   applications that we get each year, so I need the time to do this work
   before the EC meets in June.
   4. The executive committee will meet and review ALL the valid
   applications to select their committee for the upcoming year.  I will
   notify EVERY APPLICANT with the EC’s decision on June 23rd via email.

      1. Click on the link below.  This will bring you to the committee
      page.  Here you will read the instructions and then click on the link at
      the bottom of the page to submit your application.
      2. You will be prompted to log in or create a new login.  If you
      already have a login from a previous year FORGET THAT ONE.  You need to
      create a new login each year.
      3. The password must be at least 8 letters/numbers and at least one
      special character.
      4. REMEMBER THIS LOGIN!!!  You will be able to go back to change your
      selections, add a cv, and edit your application etc. Until it
closes on May
      28th at NOON.
