*A Night of Locally-Sourced Cinema at The Strand*
**
Here's an idea for some mid-semester inspiration (and extra-credit for your
students):
Enjoy a night of (free!) short films celebrating the first seven years of
the Film Minor at SUNY Plattsburgh. On Saturday, Oct. 22, we'll screen
"Volume 1: Young Filmmakers/Local Films": a selection of works *made by
SUNY Plattsburgh students, professors, and artists in the community. *
>From the comedic to the experimental... prepare for a night of cinema (all
about Plattsburgh!) screened at the beautiful Strand Center for the Arts.
*
Dedicated to the memory of Professor Isabel Arredondo, a film scholar and
Super-8 enthusiast, the newly launched Plattsburgh Film Forum aims to be a
seasonal exploration and celebration of engaging independent and amateur
cinema at The Strand. Curated by Michael Devine, director of the Center for
Interdisciplinary and Area Studies, the Plattsburgh Film Forum is part of
the Center's HUMAN (viewpoints) project, a college-community collaboration
exploring what happens when we look at the world together.
