Project HELP is SUNY Plattsburgh's volunteerism clearinghouse that provides
opportunities for students to volunteer on campus and in the community. To
sign up for Project HELP's app called Helper Helper, students just need to
download the app via Google Play or Apple Store and send an email to
projecthelp at plattsburgh.edu for a temporary password to register. Once
registered, they will be able to sign up for volunteer opportunities
including nursing homes, animal shelters, local events and activities, soup
kitchens and more. Project HELP is searching for volunteers for several
opportunities this weekend including helping at Admissions Open House
(Saturday) and working at the SUNY Plattsburgh Craft Fair at the fieldhouse
(Friday, Saturday & Sunday). Additional opportunities are available next
week to help tear down the College's quarantine/isolation set up and to
table for the Make-A-Wish Foundation fundraiser at the mall. Later this
month and next, volunteers are needed to ring bells for the Salvation Army,
to help with the City of Plattsburgh Holiday Parade, to wrap gifts at
Meadowbrook Health Care and to volunteer at the Elmore SPCA animal shelter.
Ongoing events are also available through Project HELP, as well as group
events such as the Adopt-A-Highway Program and City Parks Clean Up. New
opportunities are added frequently. Questions? Contact Project HELP at
projecthelp at plattsburgh.edu.
