Transgender Awareness Week Speaker Kelly Metzgar

*Kelly Leigh Metzgar*, Co-Founder and Executive Director at Adirondack
North Country Gender Alliance, will be our featured speaker for this
year’s  *Transgender
Awareness Week <https://www.glaad.org/transweek>**.*

Join us on Monday, November 14th, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Angell College
Center Alumni Conference Room.

Ms. Metzgar is a transgender woman living in the Adirondack North Country.
She has successfully transitioned to living full-time in her preferred
gender.

She is a co-founding board member of Gender Equality New York, Inc. (GENY),
a statewide, incorporated non-profit organization whose mission is to
support transgender, gender non-binary, and intersex (TGNBI) New Yorkers
and their families.

Ms. Metzgar is also a co-founding Core Team Member of Adirondack Diversity
Initiative, which seeks to bring diversity, education, policy, equity &
inclusion to the Adirondack and North Country region.

Transgender Awareness Week will also include *Trivia Night* in the Angell
College Center H.U.B. from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 14th. *Don’t
miss this fun and enlightening event!*

*Transgender Awareness Week *is held each year to help raise visibility
about transgender persons and address issues faced by members of the
community.
