The Campus Store invites you to a Book Reading this Thursday, November 10
from 12:00pm - 1:00pm! We welcomes faculty author John Locke for a reading
from his book, Utopia Revisited. Light refreshments will be served and
books will be available for purchase and signing.
Locke’s illustrated historical novel Utopia Revisited contains so many
twists and turns, unexpected developments and risky adventures, all fraught
with the tensions borne of greed and passionate disregard for the other,
and interlaced with philosophical reflections, as well as more noble human
ambitions. Violence abounds. Tenderness surfaces. Throughout, Locke has
provided references to historic documents which provide support for the
characters and actions presented. The traditions on which Utopia Revisited
is built include feminist writing, romance novels, high sea adventure
stories, history and natural history. The final chapter is a stunning
conclusion of resurrection and interconnection.
