Tuesday Reflections presents Dr. Daniel Lake, Chair and Associate Professor
of Political Science at SUNY Plattsburgh, speaking on "The War in Ukraine -
A Political-Military Analysis" on *Tuesday, April 5. 2022 starting at
4:30pm* via Zoom. Below is an abstract of the presentation.

The invasion of Ukraine by Russia that began on February 24 has triggered a
transformational moment in international politics. By challenging the very
legitimacy of the rules-based international constructed after World War II,
and then failing so miserably, Vladimir Putin has managed to revitalize the
"West" and reinforce the importance of American leadership. In this
presentation, Dr. Daniel Lake will discuss why President Putin ordered the
invasion of Ukraine, why this has turned out so badly for him, and what
recent developments indicate about how this is likely to turn out.

This presentation will be recorded and available for viewing on April 6.
