The Electronic Information Technology (EIT) Accessibility Committee invites
you to *attend one or all of three accessibility-related workshops* offered
by Technology Enhanced Learning this Spring.

These workshops are offered remotely. Zoom links will be sent to
registrants the morning of the workshop.

   - *Register on the TEL workshop Web page
<https://facweb.plattsburgh.edu/workshops/>**.* Be sure to use the login
fields in the left column of the page to access links to register.

*Accessibility: PDF Documents *
*March 17, 10:30-11:30*
Portable Document Format (PDF) offers many accessibility features, but they
have to be deliberately incorporated — they don’t happen by accident.
Creating an accessible PDF (also known as remediation) has the reputation
of being difficult and frustrating. Although the process can be
time-consuming, you’ll see that it’s nothing more than adopting an
accessible-design approach and following an explicit checklist of items. As
you practice, these steps will become second nature to you.

*Accessibility: Microsoft Word*
*3/31/2022 10:00-11:00*
After completing this workshop, participants should have a greater
understanding of the MS Word accessibility checker, how to use styles to
create headings in Word, insert a table of contents, use structural
elements in Word for accessibility, add alternative text to images and
objects, create a table of contents from the structure, ensure headers and
footers are accessible, use the built-in features in Word to build the
document structure (columns, lists, tables, language), and more.

*Accessibility: Powerpoint Presentations*
4/14/2022 10:00-11:00
In this workshop, we’ll explore the topics you need to know to create an
accessible PowerPoint presentation. PowerPoint accessibility shares many
general concepts with other electronic documents, such as using sufficient
color contrast and adding alt text to images. But there are also some
unique features to examine, such as slide design and embedded multimedia.
