Colleagues,

On Monday, July 25th, we will begin removing and moving Multi-Function
Printing (MFP) devices throughout campus. The process is the next step in
aligning our college with SUNY's Managed Print Initiative
<https://www.plattsburgh.edu/academics/resources/technology/policies/suny-managed-print.html>.

All impacted departments and individuals have been notified of the changes
and have met with ITS staff.

Moving to a "print smart and print less" protocol will reduce costs,
eliminate underutilized equipment, and decrease our carbon footprint in
accordance with SUNY stewardship and sustainability goals. SUNY aims to
save $15 to $20 million annually.

Over the next two years, we will gradually switch to new printing
equipment, implement quotas, and centralize the printing budget in order to
be compatible with SUNY's plan.

*Everyone can help*
All of us, right now, can take steps to reduce our printing. We can think
twice before we print and make the most of technology by using online
collaboration tools and moving documents to shared platforms.

Thank you for your cooperation in this important environmental and
cost-saving program. Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate
to contact Initiative lead, Casey Casamento, <casamecj at plattsburgh.edu> or
the ITS Helpdesk <helpdesk at plattsburgh.edu>.

Regards,

*TJ Myers*
