James Augustus Wilson Scholarship

The James Augustus Wilson Scholarship was created to honor James Augustus
Wilson, class of 1902. Mr. Wilson was the first African-American student to
enroll and graduate from Plattsburgh Normal School, the first incarnation
of what we now know as SUNY Plattsburgh. The James Augustus Wilson
Scholarship recognizes and supports Black/African American students,
enrolled full-time at SUNY Plattsburgh, for their academic achievement and
leadership.

Nominations for the James Augustus Wilson Scholarship will be accepted
until February 11, 2022.  Students may self-nominate for the scholarship or
they may be nominated by members of the college's faculty and staff. Campus
login credentials are required to access the nomination forms.

Due Date: February 11, 2022

Amount: Up to two recipients will be awarded $2,500 each for the spring
2022 semester.

Notification: Announcement of the James Augustus Wilson Scholars is
scheduled for February
