Future transition to a new learning management system

On September 24, 2021, SUNY finalized a contract with D2L (formerly
Desire2Learn) for the Brightspace learning management system.

Brightspace will replace Blackboard as part of SUNY’s digital learning
environment, requiring the migration of 48 SUNY campuses by the end of
2022, when the current contract with Blackboard expires.

Upon completion, campuses using other learning management systems
(including SUNY Plattsburgh) will follow suit, likely in 2023 or 2024. As
more information becomes available, we will share it with the campus
community.
