Start of the Semester Ethics Institute Colloquies & Activities, Fall 2021

registration will help us determine space requirements.)
All in-person participants will be required to follow the college’s COVID
regulations and wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status. Those who
are not vaccinated will also be expected to social distance, maintaining a
span of at least six feet.

Led by Wanda Haby and volunteers from the community in conjunction with
students in the Cardinal Foundations Seminar Amelioration: Your Impact on
Your Community.
Cooking as Self-Care Pod
Noon, Thursday, Sept. 30, Room 409, Sibley Hall. Limited to around 10
attendees.
Led by Dr. Cecilia Gregoire, this gathering will provide a chance to make
homemade pasta and discuss cooking as a means of self-care.
Pre-registration needed because of space limitations.
Meditation Self-Care Pod
12:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, Hudson Hall Study Lounge, 2nd Floor,
overlooking Hawkins Pond.
Led by Dr. Paul Deal, this gathering will give people a chance to
experience meditation and explore how they might incorporate meditation
into their self-care routines.
Nonfiction Writing as Self-Care Pod
Noon, Friday, Oct. 1, the HUB, Angell College Center
Led by Sara Schaff, this gathering will allow participants to experience
self-care through writing.
Culminating Conversation

The institute was founded in 1999 on the idea that citizens should make
sound choices based on free speech and that those in public life should
lead in humility and govern for the public good.
