Campus Technology Updates this Friday

Please be aware that tech teams will be conducting the following technology
updates this week, on Friday, May 21st. These changes are necessary to
comply with directives provided by our SUNY Security Operations Center (
S.O.C. <http://s.o.c./>) and to further protect our campus accounts and
users.

*Windows 10 Computer Updates.* To improve security and stability, our
campus Desktop Support team will be approving a large update for Windows 10
devices this Friday in the afternoon. Installation will occur over the
weekend.

   - Users should see little or no interruption in service, with no login
   problems. However, please allow for the possibility of your computer being
   unusable for the first half hour or so after your initial login; in rare
   instances, this may be unavoidable.

*Chromebook Login Changes.* On Friday, May 21st,  your login page and
process may be changing. If you already get prompted for a DUO

approval
when you log in to your Chromebook, then you will not see any changes.
Everyone else will see a change.

   - *For affected users:* The login screen will now look different and
   more in line with other SUNY Plattsburgh login pages. Along with the page
   changing, you will also receive a DUO authentication prompt when you
   sign in to your Chromebook.
