Good morning from the Center for Teaching Excellence and I hope this finds
you well.
I know how hard everyone is working right now to continue facilitating
student learning
during this challenging semester. I know it’s hard to make time for
anything extra but the
CTE will be hosting a discussion this week that I think many instructors
will find useful.
Our podcast discussion group, in conjunction with Paul Smith’s College
faculty, will be
talking about an episode of Lecture Breakers featuring an interview with
Arron Johnson,
author of Online Teaching With Zoom. Access a transcript or listen to the
episode here:
https://barbihoneycutt.com/blogs/podcast/episode-53-teaching-online-with-zoom-how-
to-increase-student-engagement-with-aaron-johnson
There will be two different meeting options: Tuesday, March 9, 12-12:50
p.m. OR
Wednesday, March 10, 4-5 p.m. No registration required! Zoom meeting links
and
passwords will all be posted on the CTE Moodle site. Hope you can join us!

P.S. If you’re looking for more resources about teaching in Zoom, such as
ideas for how
to mitigate Zoom fatigue and incorporate active learning into your Zoom
class meetings,
I recently added some new links to the “Using Zoom for Teaching and
Learning” section
of the CTE Moodle site: https://tinyurl.com/PlattsburghCTE
