Recording of new Degree Works and Banner (SSB9) registration demo is available

SUNY has just upgraded Degree Works to the latest version. The refresh went
live on our campus on Wednesday, June 16. The next day, Academic Advising
and the Registrar’s Office hosted a Zoom meeting to demonstrate the
features of Degree Works for chairs, special programs staff, and others who
are advising and registering new students this summer. While gathered, we
also provided a look at the new Banner registration pages (SSB9) that new
students will be using to register for courses starting this summer.

is available now. The first eight minutes of the session did not record.
Most of that was intro material I provided about the background and
timeline of the implementation and an acknowledgement of the offices who
led the rollout. In her intro to the Degree Works demo, Jessica Lashway,
Assistant Registrar, explained that the updated Degree Works dashboard
looks very different at first glance, but the information that was
available in the previous version is still there. The colors have been
removed for ADA compliance, and Degree Works is now mobile friendly and
will render on any size screen, including cell phones. This version,
however, is less customizable locally. The video picks up at the point
where the Degree Works dashboard had just been explained. Q&A about both
Degree Works and Kelley Pickreign’s demonstration of SSB9 occurs throughout
the session.

first-hand look at the audit reports of some of your continuing advisees
