UPDATE TO CAMPUS TRAVEL GUIDELINES

Campus Community:

Consistent with campus efforts to review and implement changes to support
the return of campus operations, the Campus Travel Guidelines have been
revised effective June 1, 2021.

While the College continues to operate under spending constraints limiting
our ability to fully restore travel, the changes in the new guidelines
provide additional opportunities for our campus community to engage in
state funded and/or sponsored travel.  Key takeaways:

   1.

   Critical operations travel now includes travel in the following
   categories:

○     Category 1 Travel (Eligible for State Funding)

■     Health and safety

■     Course instruction

■     To meet contractual or legal obligation

■     Intercollegiate athletic SUNYAC team events

■     Admissions or athletic student recruitment

○     Category 2 Travel (Not Eligible for State Funding)

■     Research and/or professional development

■     Institutional Advancement

   1.

   Because New York State and SUNY spending constraints remain in place,
   Category 2 Travel must be fully funded from non-state funds and cannot be
   paid for using a State Travel Card or State Purchase Order.
   2.

   All campus sponsored or funded travel is restricted to critical
   operational travel within the United States only.
   3.

   Travelers must submit an electronic travel authorization
   <https://machform.plattsburgh.edu/view.php?id=209503> with a
   justification of the need and receive approval by their respective Vice
   President before going on any state funded or sponsored travel.
