Interested in forming a more connected community at the college? We're
experimenting with some summertime gatherings and would love to have you
join us.
We will kick start these with a Plattsburgh City Beach takeover on
Thursday, July 15. Come hang out at the beach bar or cafe or bring your own
refreshments. Go swimming or floating. Or just soak up the sun with
colleagues. Families are welcome!
What: A faculty and staff gathering
When: 4:30 p.m. Thursday, July 15
Where: Plattsburgh City Beach (4 Beach Rd, Plattsburgh, NY 12901)
We suggest wearing something that is Cardinal red — a T-shirt over your
swimsuit or a scarf— to mark you as a member of the college community. In
addition, feel free to bring frisbees, beach balls, a volleyball and
sandcastle building supplies.
We will try to put some towels or lawn chairs in a circle. Feel free to
join the circle, adding your own.
Note: The beach is free to city residents. If you have never been there
and live in the city, bring your driver's license or something that proves
your address. At the entrance, they will give you a free beach pass
sticker.
If you don't live in Plattsburgh, you can walk into the beach for free or
pay $11 to park your U.S. vehicle (or $13 for a non-U.S. one). Carpooling
with someone with a city residency is a good option, too.
Please contact Michelle Ouellette (ouel8653 at plattsburgh.edu) or Liou Xie (
