WACC Call for Writing Criteria: How Do You Assess Writing?

The Writing Across the Curriculum Committee (WACC) wants to know how SUNY
Plattsburgh faculty assess student writing. This is in our effort to help
faculty be on the same page for writing standards, as well as support
socially-just writing pedagogy.

We would like to collect samples of your writing assignments as you
presented them to your students (e.g., prompts or other descriptions) and
accompanying grading criteria/checklists/rubrics. To be clear, we are not
asking for any student writing samples. We are particularly interested in
getting samples from all three academic schools: Arts & Sciences, Business
& Economics, and Education, Health, and Human Services. The samples that
you provide will be shared with all staff and faculty on campus via the
WACC Moodle site, with the goal of helping you craft your writing
assignments.
