Presentation Title:
"Is This the 'Special Relationship' Back? Canada-U.S. Issues After 100 Days
of Joe Biden:

Overview:
The election of Joe Biden to the White House brought a sigh of relief to
Canadians who were concerned about the future of the "special relationship"
between Canada and the United States during Donald Trump's presidency.
While Trump imposed tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum, denounced
Canadian trade practices, rejected the Paris Agreement dear to Prime
Minister Justin Trudeau, and left the G7 Summit in Charlevoix in 2018
prematurely, Biden has promised to quickly rebuild bridges with the United
States main allies, including Canada.

100 days after Biden's presidential inauguration, what is the state of
Canada-U.S. relations, and what are the key bilateral issues in trade and
economics, border security, climate, energy, and the environment? This
webinar will provide an overview of Canada-U.S. relations in the Biden era,
showing that Trump has left a more lasting imprint on the "special
relationship" than might appear at first glance.
