SUNY Tuition Waiver

If you’re considering continuing your education, the SUNY tuition waiver
policy  is an excellent opportunity.   Available to all state employees and
Research Foundation colleagues are eligible for waivers of tuition at State
operated campuses (excluding Community Colleges), this tuition waiver
allows for a maximum of one course per year.  The awarding of waivers is
determined by the relationship of the courses taken to current position
responsibilities and previous waivers granted, as well as by the number of
requests received and the funds available. Some semesters there are only
enough funds remaining to cover a portion of the tuition requested. Waivers
for part-time employees are prorated based on their appointment percentage.

Tuition assistance may be available through the various bargaining units
but is contingent upon the outcome of the collective bargaining process.
Colleagues should coordinate application for tuition waivers with their
requests for assistance through their bargaining units.

Applications can be found on the Forms page of Human Resource Services’
website (

Applications for waivers for the Winter and Spring Semesters must be
submitted to Human Resource Services via email hr.apply at plattsburgh.edu by
December 1, 2020.
