Write-Ins Continue

Hosted by the Writing Across the Curriculum Committee, online Faculty Write-
Ins will continue throughout the semester.

Write-ins offer a chance to come together as a community and get your own
work done. Bring whatever it is you need to do (grant writing, report
writing, research, editing, curriculum revisions, etc.) and spend a couple
of hours working with others Friday mornings between 8 and 10 a.m.

Here are some group guidelines:

   - When you arrive, turn on your video but turn off your sound. You will
   not use verbal interaction until the end of the session. Also, having your
   video on does improve accountability, but it is not required. Feel free to
   wear casual clothing – whatever is best for maximizing writing. (Many
   people are caring for children etc. during this time so whatever you need
   to do during this time is completely fine.)
   - After you log in, go to the chatbox and list one or two goals that you
   want to accomplish during the writing time. Please create realistic goals
   for this short time period. We can cheer each other on using chat.
   - When you finish a goal, write your accomplishment in chat, and, again,
   we'll cheer each other on.
   - At around 9:50 a.m., when there are 10 minutes left, we will turn on
   our sound and report on our successes.

Depending on the day, there may be several people in the Zoom room with you
– or you may be alone for a time. Whatever is the case, just make yourself
comfortable. People will drop in as they are able.
