Campus Community,
During major snowstorms, the City sometimes prohibits parking on city
streets and city-owned lots for plowing and removal of snow. These
parking bans can be "City-Wide" or for smaller targeted areas where parking is
"Modified".
In both situations, the city *activates flashing amber lights* to signify a
City snow emergency parking ban is upcoming or in effect. They also send
alerts and notifications across various platforms, including news outlets,
social media, the city's web page, and email.
The following City-wide parking ban has been declared and is being
forwarded to you as a courtesy from University Police.
*A City-Wide Parking Ban in Effect!*
*"There is a City-Wide Parking Ban (on all City streets) in effect as of
midnight tonight (12:00 AM on Tuesday, February 16th). This City Wide
Parking Ban includes the south end of the Durkee Street Parking Lot, the
Arnie Pavone Memorial Parking Lot, the Broad Street Parking Lot, and the
Upper and Lower Court Street Parking Lots. Vehicles that are in violation
of this parking ban will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense.
This City-Wide Parking Ban will remain in effect until further notice!"*
*Students* parking in *on-campus lots* will not be affected by the City's
parking ban. *Off-campus* students wishing to park on-campus during this
parking ban may use the following lots between 5:00 p.m. tonight through
8:00 a.m. tomorrow:
· Lot 4A-REDCAY (behind Redcay Hall, accessible from Brinkerhoff Street)
· Lot 21-SIBLEY (behind Sibley Hall, accessible from Angell Drive)
· Lot 27-BANKS (behind Banks Hall, accessible from Sanborn and Park
Avenues)
