SUNY Plattsburgh will host a first-responder mass-casualty training exercise
today, Friday, May 22, from 7 a.m. to noon at the Plattsburgh State Field
House and the UVM Health Network at CVPH.

Participating agencies include:

   - SUNY Plattsburgh Office of Emergency Management and University Police
   - City of Plattsburgh Fire and Police Department
   - Clinton County Office of Emergency Services and Sheriff’s Office
   - UVM Health Network at CVPH and CVPH EMS
   - Federal Bureau of Investigation
   - New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services
   - New York State Police
   - New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Forest Rangers
   - U.S. Border Patrol
   - Morrisonville EMS

The exercise is designed to strengthen coordination and preparedness among
regional emergency response agencies in the event of a mass casualty
incident.

During this time, *the Field House will be closed* to the public to allow
for the safe and controlled execution of training activities. The public is
asked to avoid the area during the exercise because of the presence of
multiple emergency vehicles and personnel conducting simulated response
operations.

Participating agencies will use designated emergency radio channels to
replicate real-world communication procedures used during critical
incidents.

This is a planned training exercise only. There is no actual emergency.
SUNY Plattsburgh continues to work closely with local, state, and federal
partners to support the safety and preparedness of the campus and the
surrounding community.
