Dear Cardinals,
Dangerously cold weather is expected in our area from Friday night through
Saturday, with wind chills that could reach –20°F to –40°F.
Scattered snow showers with embedded snow squalls are likely today and
tomorrow.
*What to know:*
- Frostbite can happen in 10 minutes
- Hypothermia risk if you’re outside too long
- Snow squalls = sudden low visibility & slick travel
*Stay safe:*
- Limit time outdoors
- Dress in layers, a hat, gloves, and boots
- Be careful traveling
- Alcohol can make you lose heat faster, so drink coffee.
- Cold affects cars & heating systems — plan ahead
If you have health conditions or take medications, you may be more
sensitive to extreme cold.
Check weather updates at weather.gov and take care of yourself (and your
pets).
If you need help, contact University Police at 518-564-2022.
Sincerely,
Mike Caraballo
