[Important Information for Students] Campus Weather Advisory – Dangerous Cold This Weekend

Dear Cardinals,

Dangerously cold weather is expected in our area from *7 a.m. Saturday
through 1 p.m. Sunday.*

Very cold temperatures combined with strong winds may lead to wind chills as
low as 15 degrees below zero, with 20 to 40 degrees below zero possible in
surrounding areas. In these conditions, frostbite and hypothermia can
happen quickly, especially if you’re outside for extended periods.

*What to know:*

   - Frostbite can happen in 10 minutes
   - Hypothermia risk if you’re outside too long

*Stay safe:*

   - Limit time outdoors
   - Dress in layers, a hat, gloves, and boots
   - Be careful traveling
   - Alcohol can make you lose heat faster, so drink coffee.
   - Cold affects cars & heating systems — plan ahead

If you have health conditions or take medications, you may be more
sensitive to extreme cold.

Check weather updates at weather.gov and take care of yourself (and your
pets).
