[Important Information for Students] SUNY Plattsburgh’s Scheduled Emergency Notification Test

Dear Cardinals.

On *Thursday, September 4, between 11:00 a.m. and noon*, SUNY Plattsburgh
will conduct a campus-wide test of our Emergency Notification Systems.
During this test, you may receive messages through:

   - SUNY NY Alert (phone, text, email)
   - Campus email
   - Desktop notifications (on campus-owned computers)
   - Outdoor warning sirens

Please take a minute today to review your SUNY NY Alert profile for
accuracy or add extra ways to be notified.

*Why does this matter?* In an emergency, seconds count. Having your contact
info up to date ensures you’ll get alerts quickly and in multiple ways.

Here’s how you can check or update your profile:

   - Log in to MyPlattsburgh <https://my.plattsburgh.edu/home/>
   - Scroll to the bottom of the homepage and select *"Update my NY Alert
   Contact Information"*
      - (This is located under the “Emergency Notification” section towards
      the bottom of the page.)
   - On the next page, click* "Emergency Alert Contact Information
   (NY-Alert)"*
   - Scroll to the bottom of the page and* select the second option. Then
   press continue.*
   - Follow the prompts to add or update your preferred methods of
   notification (e.g., phone, text, email).
   - On the last page, review your information and then click *“Register me
   with NY-Alert”* to save your information.
