[Important Information for Students] The Mahara e-portfolio will be retired at the end of December

*The Mahara ePortfolio system*, a Moodle add-on at SUNY Plattsburgh for the
last decade, will be taken offline permanently at the start of January 2024.

IMPORTANT: If you've created portfolios in Mahara—or uploaded files to
Mahara—and wish to retain them, you have until the end of *December 2023 *to
download them.

Any files left in Mahara after that point will be *deleted* when the system
is decommissioned.

*How to Download Mahara content*
The process for downloading your content from the system is a matter of a
couple of clicks:

   1. Log into https://moodle.plattsburgh.edu, expand the *ePortfolio *dropdown
   menu, and click on the *ePortfolio Home * option.

   1. Once you're in Mahara, click on the waffle icon to the right of your
   name. Then, from the menu that appears, click on the *Manage* option to
   expose its submenu. Then click on the *Export* option.

   1.  On the *Export* screen, ensure that "All my data" is selected as the
   export option. Then click on the *Generate export* button.

   1. *Your work is done! * Mahara will gather up all of your ePortfolios
   and files, generate an HTML and a Leap2 version of your ePortfolio, put
   everything into a ZIP file, and queue that for download.

   1. Once your ZIP archive has been downloaded to your computer, you can
   close out the browser window on Mahara. You don't need to delete your files
   from the system, as this will happen automatically when Mahara is
   decommissioned in January.

*The whole process takes just a few minutes.* But remember, if you hope to
reclaim any content you've created in Mahara, you'll have to *do this
before the end of this year**.*
