[Important Information for Students] Reminder: Student invitation to interviews (hybrid) for our next Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Greetings students!!

Three candidates for SUNY Plattsburgh's next Vice President for Diversity,
Equity and Inclusion will be visiting campus this week, on June 28th, 29th,
and 30th.  An open session (both in person and hybrid) has been planned
*specifically* for our students to interact with each candidate: Time:
11:00-11:45 a.m. Location: Alumni Conference Room and Zoom access

We will also have open campus sessions on each day, and students are
welcome to attend these sessions as well.

The Search Committee hopes very much that those who can easily attend the
on-campus session(s) will do so; in this way, we can present a lively
campus invested in this search and our choice of the next VP for DEI.  But
Zoom participation is also very important, especially because we know that
the vast majority of our students are not within range of campus over the
summer.  The VP for DEI works closely with our student body, and so we know
that your feedback is critical in the final choice of a candidate.

To be fair to each candidate and mindful of the timing of the interviews,
we will post cover letters and cv’s as follows:

24 hours in advance of each individual visit.

These documents will be removed for each candidate as we transition to the
next candidate’s materials.

*Each candidate has been asked to begin their open sessions (with students
and with the campus) in response to the following instructions:*
Please prepare a 15 minute introduction to yourself where you share with
our community 1.) your credentials and the experiences that prepare you for
this important leadership position; 2.) an example of *one* initiative that
you have led that was the most impactful on your institution; and 3.) your
understanding of the most challenging contemporary issues for today's DEI
professionals.
