[Important Information for Students] Edible Cannabis

Students,

I'm sending you this message due to recent reports of overconsumption of
edible cannabis by some of our students.

Some may feel that edible cannabis is harmless but the truth is the drug
affects people differently. The effects from an edible cannabis product may
not be felt for up to two hours and may take up to 4 hours to peak.
Overconsumption can result in unpleasant effects including extreme
sedation/inability to move, anxiety, paranoia, hallucinations, delusions,
rapid heartbeat, or respiratory depression.

Also, know that possession of cannabis on college campuses, by anyone, is
prohibited by the college and by the federal Drug-Free Schools and
Communities Act (DFSCA). In addition, New York State Law prohibits
possession of cannabis by anyone under 21 years of age, and sales of
cannabis by unlicensed persons.

We want you to be safe! Our hope is that you will not consume this drug but
if you do, please be responsible, start low - go slow, and only use edibles
obtained from legal sources.
