Dear Cardinal Family,

This is Consent Week, an annual opportunity for campus community members to
reflect, learn and grow by embedding consent in our daily lives. As we
start the new semester and honor this opportunity in partnership with our
Title IX office, we want you to know you are always at the center of every
decision we make and in our being transparent about issues and concerns
around campus.

It is very important to us that our students are not discouraged from
reporting any type of violence or harassment. Every conversation and report
is treated with individualized care, consideration and experience. We hope
that you never need to file a report with Title IX, but if you do, be
assured that the dedicated individuals in the Title IX office will be there
to support you.

Title IX is one part of the overall campus effort to prevent and respond to
sexual or interpersonal violence and to be at the forefront of campus
cultural change. Here are just a few of the resources provided:

   - Ensuring immediate safety of all involved
   - Listening and engaging in a non-judgmental environment
   - Connecting the student with medical services, advisers, and/or
   confidential counseling, if desired
   - Assistance in filing a criminal report with University Police or other
   relevant departments
   - Assisting all parties involved with any academic accommodations needed

We continually review our internal processes and policies based on best
practices in partnership with our campus attorney and other campus
constituents, including our students.

For the protection of each person and in following the law, details of
individual cases cannot be shared, discussed or commented on publicly, or
replied to on platforms like social media. Even so, we can plainly say
we are committed to actions that address the safety of each of you in all
cases.

The Title IX Office and our other student health and safety departments
care about you and each member of our Cardinal Family. If you have ideas
for how we can improve, we are all here to listen. Please email
