Good morning,

Please see email below highlighting SUNY Adirondack's new mask and testing
policy, effective immediately. As students, faculty, and staff on their
campus we will cooperate with these new guidelines. Questions? Email

Dear Students:

I hope your semester is going well and thank you for your continued
commitment to the health and safety of our shared community.

In light of the continued decline of COVID cases in our region and around
New York, the change in CDC guidance for communities with low transmission
rates, and upon consultation with SUNY and the Warren County Public Health
Services department, the college will adopt the following changes to its
face covering and testing policies effective March 2, 2022:

Face coverings

Face coverings will be optional in all indoor public settings for students
who are vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) and proof is on file in the
Registrar’s Office.

Face coverings remain required, per SUNY policy, in all indoor public
settings for those who are:

   -

Unvaccinated but approved for a medical or religious exemption
   -

Eligible for a booster, but have not yet received it and/or have not
   provided proof of such

IMPORTANT FOR ALL: Anyone, per policy # 3010, who has tested positive for
COVID-19 and has returned to campus upon completing 5 days of isolation and
free of symptoms, must wear a well-fitting mask at all times on days 6-10.

COVID-19 Testing

Weekly testing remains required for individuals who are:

   -

Unvaccinated but approved for a medical or religious exemption
   -

Eligible for a booster, but have not yet received it and/or have not
   provided proof of such
   -

   Student athletes

All other students are exempt from testing but may do so on a voluntary
basis. The college will maintain rapid tests to use as needed and encourage
students to pick up a supply in the Student Center to use before returning
to classes after spring break.

The following health and safety strategies remain available to our campus
community:

   -

Getting vaccinated and/or boosted (if you are eligible)
   -

Staying home if you have any symptoms of COVID-19 and seeking testing
   -

   Reporting positive test results
   -

Wearing face coverings (KN95 or surgical masks are available to all)
   -

Washing or sanitizing your hands (sanitizing stations around campus)
   -

Maintaining your distance from others whenever practicable
   -

COVID-19 testing on site (required for those who are not vaccinated or
up to date with booster shots) for anyone to access if needed

We are moving away from widespread mandates and toward personal
responsibility. Your responsibility involves getting vaccinated and boosted
(when eligible), monitoring your health and staying home when ill, and
supporting anyone who wishes to maintain face coverings to protect
themselves and others in their lives.

We expect everyone to respect individual decisions to remain masked and
refrain from disparaging comments, mocking or otherwise disrespectful
behavior. Please be considerate if another student or employee requests you
to be masked while meeting in close proximity, especially if you exhibit
any cold-like symptoms.

I am hopeful we can maintain this optional face covering policy. However,
if community transmission rates change to high, as defined by the Centers
for Disease Control (CDC) and upon consultation with our local public
health officials, we may need to reinstate face coverings in any or all
campus community spaces.

Let’s work together to keep our community healthy. Thank you in advance for
your support!
