Good afternoon,

In accordance with President Enyedi's email regarding Monday's forecasted
winter storm to impact a large portion of New York, including Warren
County, all classes will be canceled Monday, January 26, 2026. *This
includes all online and in-person classes in Queensbury.* Telecommuting is
in effect via the guidelines below. As such our Queensbury Campus Office in
Bryan Hall will be closed Monday, with staff working remotely.

A similar email will be sent momentarily to our Queensbury Campus students.

Dear Colleagues,


As we prepare for the start of the spring semester, we are also closely
monitoring a significant winter storm that is expected to impact large
portions of New York State, including the North Country. Forecasts indicate
hazardous travel conditions, including snow, ice, and high winds, as well
as transportation disruptions that are already affecting travel across the
region.


Earlier today, the NYS Office of Employee Relations directed that all
non-essential employees telecommute for the full workday on Monday, January
26, where possible due to the anticipated severity of the storm.


For those non-essential employees who cannot telecommute, a directed
absence will be applied for Monday, January 26, without charge to leave
accruals.


Essential employees are expected to report to work as directed. For extreme
weather events, essential personnel include:



   - All employees within various departments of Facilities, Maintenance,
   and Operations (excluding administrative staff and the accountant)



   - All employees in University Police (excluding administrative staff)


Employees in these areas are notified of essential status at hire and
through annual designation.


All classes will be cancelled on Monday, January 26, 2026. This includes
online classes. We expect classes to resume as scheduled on Tuesday,
January 27, 2026 unless otherwise directed.


Queensbury Campus


SUNY Plattsburgh’s Queensbury Campus follows the emergency or
weather-related closings and delays of our host campus, SUNY Adirondack.
Queensbury students, faculty, and staff are included in SUNY Adirondack’s
emergency alert system and should continue to monitor those notifications
on the SUNY Adirondack website
