[Important Information for Employees] Fall Dining Updates

Greetings Cardinals,

We hope you're enjoying a relaxing and sunny summer!

At College Auxiliary Services (CAS), summer is a time of preparation - we
work closely with Chartwells to fine-tune our dining operations in advance
of the fall semester. With the successful openings of The Cardinal Nest,
Cardinal Market/Starbucks Café, and Halal Shack/Jamal’s Chicken, the ACC
now features beautifully renovated venues offering various and convenient
options for our campus community.

As part of this continued improvement, we’ve taken a thoughtful look at
utilization, efficiencies and benchmarks. While the average SUNY
comprehensive college offers one dining venue for every 307 students, our
campus has been proud to operate ten venues - approximately one for every
165 students. To help keep meal plan rates affordable and to take advantage
of our newly renovated dining options just steps away, we’ve made the
thoughtful decision to close Tim Hortons ahead of the fall semester. Even
with this adjustment, we will continue to provide one dining venue per 184
students -significantly more access than the average.

We know Tim’s holds a special place in many hearts, and while we’ll miss
it, we’re excited to share that many of your favorite offerings will be
available just downstairs at the Cardinal Café, including:

   - A full line of Starbucks beverages and Refreshers - use a meal swipe
   to enjoy!
   - Housemade breakfast and lunch sandwiches, like the all-time favorite
   Turkey Bacon Club
   - Baked treats from our Campus Bakery, including macarons, brownie bites
   AND donuts

Additionally, the pasta station in the Nest will now feature rotating
concepts during the day and offer salads and wraps during Late Night.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you back in August, and we always value
