[Important Information for Employees] The Death of James C. Stewart

Good Morning Campus Community,
We were saddened to have learned of the passing of Mr. James C. Stewart, who died Aug. 27, 2026, at the age of 72.
Mr. Stewart joined the janitorial department as a cleaner Dec. 19, 2011, retiring Oct. 1, 2019.
A Gowanda, N.Y., native, Mr. Steward was a veteran of the U.S. Army in the early 1970s, having been stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He settled in Saranac Lake where he became the long-time manager at Plattsburgh Motor Services before his tenure at SUNY Plattsburgh.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, 20 Church Street, Saranac Lake, N.Y., 12983, from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, with military honors taking place at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
