*Annual Notice of Title IX*
Hello Students and Employees,
This annual notice provides important information about your rights and
responsibilities under Title IX (students and employees) and Title VII
(employees only), as well as related New York State protections including
129-B (students only) and New York Human Rights Law (students and
employees). By reviewing this notice and completing your annual sexual
harassment prevention training, you will learn how to:

Recognize sexual harassment and related misconduct.

Report concerns to the Title IX Coordinator.

Access supportive measures and resources.
-
Help create a safer, more respectful campus community.
What Title IX Covers
Title IX is a federal civil rights law that prohibits colleges and
universities that receive federal funding from discriminating on the basis
of sex in education programs and activities. New York State law provides
additional protections.

Types of Prohibited Conduct
No one deserves to experience harm. Title IX and Title VII prohibit:

Sexual harassment and hostile environment harassment on the basis of sex

Quid pro quo harassment

Sexual assault
-
Dating and domestic violence
-
Stalking
Your Rights
All students and employees have the right to:

Report to University Police, local law enforcement, and/or state
policeβor choose not to report.

Report an incident to SUNY Plattsburgh.
-
Be protected from retaliation for reporting.
-
Receive assistance and resources from the University.

Supportive Measures
After a report is received, the Title IX Office will offer supportive
measures, which may include:

Academic or workplace accommodations

No-contact orders
-
Advisor of choice
-
Options for investigation or informal resolution
Both students and employees may receive services through the Title IX
Office. Employees also have access to our Domestic Violence Agency Liaison,
Mike Thompson.
